I support Chip Curry’s reelection for Senate District 11 representing Waldo County.  Most fundamentally, he’s a good guy who takes the job seriously.  When I’ve written to him in years past about bills that matter to me, I have received warm, personal and timely responses.  

He has good tenure in Augusta and understands how the legislative process works.  His service as the chair of Housing and Economic Development Committee, as well as his seat on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, are roles that directly affect folks in Waldo County.

In particular, housing affordability, development and emergency shelter services are topics that Chip has focused on. I have near-daily conversations with my friends and neighbors about what the needs are, and Chip is actively working on common sense solutions.   

I appreciate that I see Chip out and about.  He lives in Belfast and has been in this area for the past 30 years.  He participates in the day-to-day life of this county.  When I have had the opportunity to interact with him, whether in his role as the student services coordinator at UMA Rockland, or serving on local boards, he gets it. 

Community is about people who show up and do the work. I have faith that he will continue to do this as our senator with diligence and a sense of humility.
