Silvio Calabi, author of Hemingway’s Guns: The Sporting Arms of Ernest Hemingway, will address the Camden Rotary Club at noon on Tuesday, September 29. He will tell about the famed writer’s ploy to repel German U-boats near Cuba during World War II. Hemingway’s 38-foot sportfisherman and a British-made “elephant gun” played key roles in this scheme, which Hemingway carried out in collaboration with the U.S. Navy.
