Mobile opioid treatment unit to set up in Rockland
New Season Treatment Center is expanding its reach to rural and underserved communities with the launch of its third mobile opioid treatment unit, further expanding access to care across Midcoast Maine, including Rockland and Brunswick.
"As part of its growing mobile network, the Rockland unit will bring vital Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services and telehealth counseling directly to patients across Midcoast Maine," said New Season Treatment Center.
Set to begin operations Fall 2025, the Rockland-based mobile unit will function as an extension of the Rockland Treatment Center, significantly reducing transportation and access barriers for patients in need, according to New Season, in a news release.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Oct. 23, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., at New Season Treatment Center, 166 New County Road, Rockland, Maine 04841.
"This launch follows successful deployments in Portland, Oregon, and Greensboro, North Carolina, underscoring New Season’s commitment to improving access to high-quality, community-based care nationwide," said New Season.
“Bringing our mobile treatment model to Maine allows us to serve individuals who have limited or no access to opioid use disorder care,” said Mike Garone, Senior Vice President of Business Development. “This region has a real and urgent need, and our team is ready to meet that need head on.”
The Rockland unit will feature two dosing windows for efficient daily medication administration and will offer virtual counseling to support a comprehensive treatment experience.
Jim Shaheen, CEO of New Season Treatment Center, emphasized the importance of this expansion.
“Our mobile program is designed to meet patients where they are—physically and emotionally," he said. "Brunswick is the next step in our mission to remove barriers and deliver treatment to communities that have long been underserved.”
"By deploying mobile units in high-need regions like Midcoast Maine, New Season continues to lead the way in innovative, patient-centered addiction care," said the news release.
