BELFAST — Melissa Ann Hartman (Stover), 46, of Belfast, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, surrounded by her daughters Anika and Jillian, her mother Sharon, and her best friend Terra.

Born on August 4, 1975, in Belfast, Melissa was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the daughter of Sharon Stover and the late Lloyd Stover Sr., and sister to Lloyd Stover Jr. and the late Tina Joy.

Melissa’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the proud mother of four children: Zachary Joseph, Kelsey Joseph, Anika Hartman, and Jillian Hartman. Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren: Lylah Hartman, Serenity Joseph, and Thomas Joseph. She embraced every child she met with warmth and kindness.

Melissa was remembered for her funny stories, her big hugs, and the way she made everyone feel seen and loved. She found peace through crafts and sewing, expressing her creativity with a gentle and generous spirit. Her love for God and her family carried her through life’s challenges, including her struggle with addiction.

Melissa’s legacy is one of unconditional love, laughter, and resilience. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Melissa's grave site is located in Grove Cemetery in Belfast next to her sister, Tina.
