THOMASTON — The Oceanside and Medomak middle school girls soccer teams met on the pitch Friday, Oct. 1 and Monday, Oct. 4 in Thomaston.

Originally scheduled as a home-and-home deal with the Monday contest in Waldoboro, the Monday contest was shifted to Oceanside’s field due to poor Medomak field conditions due to the rain.

Friday: Medomak 6, Oceanside 1

The scoring began when Scarlett Flint tallied a goal about 10 minutes into the contest to give Medomak a 1-0 advantage, and scored again six minutes later to make it a 2-0 affair.

With two minutes left until halftime, Rachel Barbour found Haylee Chandler outside the 18. Chandler scored to make it 3-0 before Ari Kennard made it 4-0 with 30 seconds to go until the break.

Flint recorded two more goals in the second half to make it 6-0 before Grace Mackie tallied the lone Oceanside goal with two minutes to go in the contest.

The scoring began when Flint tallied a goal six minutes into the contest, and again 10 minutes thereafter (the second one courtesy a Summer Staples assist) to put Medomak on top 2-0.

With two minutes until the halftime pause, Staples extended the Riverhawk advantage to 3-0.

Chandler tallied a second half goal to make it 4-0, before Felicity Griffin made it 5-0 eight minutes later.
