Medomak middle school boys soccer sits at 2-1

WALDOBORO — The boys soccer season is hustling along for the Medomak Riverhawks, who sport a 2-1 record with at least three games remaining on the schedule. 

After starting the season 2-0, the Riverhawks eye a return to its winning ways in a home contest Wednesday, Sept. 29 against Troy Howard before a pair of contests against Oceanside first at home on Friday and then on the road Monday. 

Medomak may also challenge Great Salt Bay next week, if the contest can be rescheduled. 

Sept. 17: Medomak 8, Troy Howard 1

On the road in Belfast, Medomak tallied four goals in each half, while Troy Howard managed its lone goal in the second half. 

Luke Cheesman tallied a trio of goals for Medomak, Dima Cheesman record four and Landon Morrison added one. 

Luke and Dima Cheesman each tallied eight shots while Morrison tallied one. Nathan Staples and Morrison each tallied an assist. 

Mason Nguyen recorded two saves for Medomak. 

The visiting Riverhawks recorded six corner kicks compared to Troy Howard’s one. 

Sept. 24: Medomak 10, Woolwich 1

At home against Woolwich, the hosts tallied five goals in each half while Woolwich managed one in the opening half. 

Dima Cheesman recorded five goals, Luke Cheesman added two, Mason Nguyen recorded two and Landon Morrison contributed one. 

Recording shots for the hosts were Dima Cheesman (eight), Luke Cheesman (five), Brayden Nadeau (one), Landon Starr (two), Aidyn Herring (one) and Nguyen (three). 

Jayden Drost (one) and Luke Cheesman (three) added assists for the Riverhawks, while Nguygen recorded a pair of saves. 

Medomak tallied three corner kicks compared to one for Woolwich. 

Sept. 27: Camden-Rockport 6, Medomak 0 

At Point Lookout in Northport, the Riverhawks suffered its first loss of the season. 

Camden-Rockport tallied four goals in the first half and two in the second half courtesy of hat tricks from Eggena Graham and Jasper Hackett. 

Dima Cheesman (three), Luke Cheesman (one) and Landon Starr (one) each recorded shots for Medomak. 

Mason Nguyen recorded a dozen saves for Medomak. 

Camden-Rockport outpaced Medomak in corner kicks 3-0.
