BATH — The Medomak Middle School girls soccer team hit the road Monday, Sept. 9 to open the season on the road against Woolwich at Morse High School in Bath.

On the road, Medomak secured a 5-0 victory to start the season off with a 1-0 record.

Two minutes into the contest, the Waldoboro-based Riverhawks tallied its first goal when Eliza Luce broke away from the defense and scored unassisted.

About 13 minutes later, Acadia Dinsmore found the back of the net unassisted for Medomak to extend the lead to 2-0.

Luce scored unassisted once again with about 10 minutes remaining in the half.

Both teams started the second half strong and Medomak’s Kytana Williamson scored the team’s fourth goal with less than 15 minutes off the clock when her shot deflected off a Woolwich player.

Three minutes later, Olivia Pelkey slipped past a few defenders and found the lower left corner of the goal unassisted for Medomak’s fifth and final goal.

Medomak head coach Andrea Williamson noted great defense was played by goalkeeper Erica Waite, in addition to Madison Boynton, Sara Nelson and Haley Puchalski.

“The whole team worked hard together and made some good passes and played a great game of soccer on the amazing facility field that was offered to them,” said Andrea Williamson.
