Medomak 8th girls basketball tops Camden-Rockport in quarterfinals

WALDOBORO — The fourth-seeded Medomak and fifth-seeded Camden-Rockport eighth grade girls basketball teams met on the hardwood in Waldoboro for a Busline League quarterfinal round playoff contest Tuesday, Jan. 21. 

The host Riverhawks collected a 34-22 victory over the visiting Schooners. 

Scoring for Medomak were Kylie Blake (four points), Kaylee Kurr (six), Eliza Luce (eight), Sara Nelson (10), Olivia Pelkey (four) and Haley Puchalski (two). 

Scoring for Camden-Rockport were Amelia Johnson (11 points), Lily Martin (six), Jenna Vanryn (one) and Tessa Byrnes (four). 

“We came out moving the ball very well and we pressed hard for most of the first and second quarter,” said Medomak coach Celia Philbrick. “When we get the ball moving from inside to out it is so fun to watch and we did that very well today.”
