MaineHealth Waldo Hospital offers Drive-thru Flu Clinics in October
MaineHealth Waldo Hospital will offer drive-thru flu clinics at several Waldo County locations in October. The clinics, which are open to the public, will offer both the standard-dose flu shot and the high-dose often favored by seniors. Adults 18 and older are welcome.
Drive-thru locations include:
Belfast: Fridays, Oct. 3, Oct. 10, Oct. 17, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Biscone Health Center parking lot, 119 Northport Ave. (across the street from the main hospital campus)
Stockton Springs: Monday, Oct. 20, 8 a.m. to noon, MaineHealth Primary Care Family Medicine Stockton Springs, 11 Cape Jellison Road
Brooks: Thursday, Oct. 23, 8 a.m. to noon, MaineHealth Primary Care Family Medicine Brooks, 55 Reynolds Road.
As in past years, the drive-thru flu clinics are designed to be user friendly, and no appointments are needed. On-site signage at each location will lead participants to a drive-thru lane marked by traffic cones, where clinical staff will greet them and administer the flu vaccine.
Most insurances are accepted, and those with insurance should be sure to bring their insurance card. Some insurance plans only cover vaccines given by your doctor or at a limited set of locations, so consider checking with your insurance company first. Those without insurance can receive flu vaccines at no cost.
