'Randy Fein: Between Studios' exhibits at The Waldo Theatre’
“Randy Fein: Between Studios - Clay Sculpture & Beyond” will be on exhibit at The Waldo Theatre’s Alfond Gallery, 916 Main St, Waldoboro from October 3 - November 30.
“Randy Fein: Between Studios - Clay Sculpture & Beyond” brings together clay works from across four decades. The exhibit features a diverse selection of Randy Fein’s imaginative clay relief seascapes, architectural wall relief sculptures, plus fragmented figurative clay sculptures that are each created in Fein’s signature expressive style.
The public is invited to attend the opening artist reception Sunday, Oct. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m., at The Waldo Theatre. At 4 p.m., Randy Fein will offer a complimentary presentation sharing her creative approach to clay and reflection about her decades-long career as an artist.
"This brief lecture will pique the audience's knowledge about the works in the show and encourage further engaging dialog with attendees," said Waldo Theatre.
Light refreshments will be served.
This show at The Waldo Theatre is aptly titled “Between Studios.” Fein is presently focused on the organizational task of moving heavy pottery equipment, ceramic sculpture and hundreds of pounds of clay and glazes to a new creative space. The artist is embarking on her next studio endeavor: a teaching studio and workshop called “Clay Space Camden“. Clay Space Camden will be located at 5 Colcord Avenue in Camden and will provide Fein with a publicly accessible ground floor gallery, work space and ample room for teaching ceramic sculpture and pottery workshops. Clay Space Camden will begin offering classes led by Fein in early December.
Creating a new studio endeavor comes at a pivot point in my career," said Fein. "I know clay and I want to share my expertise with people who will follow this passion. I hope to build a clay community of like-minded participants. I have so much enthusiasm and knowledge of ceramics to inspire my future students to find their individual creative direction with clay.”
The Waldo Theatre’s Alfond Gallery is open before events and by appointment. To make an appointment to see the exhibit send an email to: info@thewaldotheatre.org or contact Randy Fein through her website at www.randyfein.com.
