Camden: Parking ban, town office closure

The Town of Camden is joining State government offices across Maine and will be closed all day Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, due to the incoming severe winter storm conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for Coastal Knox and Waldo counties from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches are forecast, with wind gusts in excess of 40 mph possible - especially along the immediate coast.

According to the NWS, "Whiteout conditions are expected with visibilities below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The greatest potential for blizzard conditions will exist late morning through afternoon Monday. The hazardous conditions will arrive during the Monday morning commute and will continue through the evening commute. Strong winds will down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. A Few trees and power lines could be downed. The power outage threat is elevated."

Gov. Mills is strongly urging all Maine people to use extra caution if traveling.

A winter parking ban is also in effect for Camden: A parking ban will be in effect on all streets and municipal parking lots in Camden beginning Monday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m., until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24. To allow for unfettered snow removal, intermittent stops downtown are permitted during the day but no long-term parking. Overnight parking is allowed only in the Public Safety parking lot on Washington Street beginning Monday at 5 p.m. until Tuesday at 6 a.m.
