Learning Landscapes seeks volunteers to support teachers, outdoor classrooms
Coastal Mountains Land Trust’s Learning Landscapes program is seeking volunteers to support teachers as they take their classes outside. Outdoor learning has been gaining momentum and one of challenges local educators shared at the Land Trust’s free, annual Outdoor Learning Retreat, is the need for additional support by trained adults.
This past spring, Coastal Mountains completed its first year piloting a Learning Landscapes volunteer program. As educators returned to school this fall, a record number of teachers requested outdoor learning volunteer support.
Coastal Mountains will be co-hosting a volunteer training with teachers and administrators on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 3 - 4 p.m., at the Camden Rockport Elementary School.
"Please join us to learn about the Learning Landscapes Volunteer Training Program and how you can support outdoor learning at schools in the Five Towns and RSU 71 school districts," said CMLT.
