Mike grew up on Sand Street in Camden. He was an avid hunter and trapper, always having a trusted companion for these activities. He enjoyed collecting guns and coins and telling tall tales. In his youth, he worked at the tannery for several years. Mike owned his own boat and lobstered out of Rockport. His career also included working at the Black Pearl restaurant, Fisher Engineering, and Steel & Marshall. He then learned to build aluminum ramps and docks with John Hill at Hill Engineering, before starting his own successful business, Marine Exhaust & Engineering, which he operated for approximately 20 years. Due to health issues, Mike resided in Rockland for the past two decades, where he continued to do what he could and assist friends whenever possible.
A close friend, Dicky, shared, "I lived with Mike for 7 years, and we shared many laughs. Mike was very accommodating to those he cared for. He helped me greatly when I needed a friend throughout the years. He was inventive, enjoyed fabricating things, and even had his own fabrication shop. He truly enjoyed life, worked hard, and knew how to have a good time with his friends."
A celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
