Invasive Species Identification and Removal Workshop at Rockland Bog
Join Georges River Land Trust, Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District, and the City of Rockland’s Parks and Rec Department and Trails Committee for a hands-on workshop covering common invasive species in Maine, how to identify them, and proper pulling practices.
This workshop will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 3 - 5 p.m. The rain date is Thursday, Oct. 9.
During the workshop, participants will work to remove invasive species along the Bog Overlook Trail.
This workshop is free and open to anyone. No prior experience pulling invasives is needed. Participants should be prepared to walk over uneven terrain with some elevation and roots. Good walking shoes, long pants, drinking water, and gloves are recommended. Loppers are encouraged if participants have them.
The Rockland Bog Overlook Trail is located at 181 Bog Rd, Rockland, ME 04841. This scenic trail is a collaboration between several community partners including Georges River Land Trust and the City of Rockland.
