Maine State Police commemorative license plates raise funds for cancer
From September 1, 2025, through September 14, 2025, Maine State Police cruisers throughout the state will a commemorative series of license plates.
The Maine State Police and the Maine State Troopers Foundation have partnered with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund to launch a special initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds for cancer research and care, "symbolizing the collective commitment to this crucial cause," said Maine Department of Public Safety.
These unique license plates will feature designs that symbolize hope and unity in the fight against cancer.
"This initiative promises not only to draw attention to the critical work being done by Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund but also to foster community support for the cause, potentially leading to significant advancements in cancer research," said MPS.
Following the campaign period, the commemorative plates will be auctioned to the public, with all proceeds benefiting the Jimmy Fund, which directly supports patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber.
"Dana-Farber has long been at the forefront of cancer treatment and research, providing life-saving care and striving for breakthroughs in cancer research," said MPS.
Colonel William Ross, Chief of the Maine State Police, stated, "We're deeply honored to support Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. By displaying these commemorative plates, we aim to convey a message of hope and resilience to the people of Maine and the nation. This initiative reflects our commitment to the well-being of our communities."

Auction plates will be available September 15, 2025, at the Trooper Foundation website, www.mainestatetroopersfoundation.org
