Salt Pond Studio presents the art of Jamie Spooner in a solo exhibition. Join the artist Saturday, Sept. 6, from 4 - 7 p.m., at Salt Pond Studio, in celebration of this joyful exhibition.

Jamie Spooner, a long time resident of Friendship, earned her B.A. in Studio Art from Smith College and has worked in a range of creative fields, from teaching art in Switzerland and Florence, to running a web design company in the Bay Area, and currently building her video and animation business. No matter the medium, her passion for painting, illustration, and photography has always been at the center of her work.

From her home perched over the Muscungus, Spooner revels in the drama of the early morning light as it fades into the glow of the late afternoon and softly fades into the night. Her signature playful style uses bright color and a knack for capturing glowing light to portray the drama of a simple day on the coast of Maine.

"Jamie skillfully renders peaceful scenes of coastal days and nights - a wading dog, resting gulls , fishing boats at rest on their moorings, as well as their captains and crew pursuing their daily work," said Salt Pond. "Jamie’s true aim is to create imagery that sparks joy and reflect beauty offering a moment of lightness and warmth to a complex world.

"Salt Pond Studio welcomes you enjoy this opening reception replete with our signature barbecue, good conversation, and good cheer," said the studio.

Salt Pond Studio is located at 522 Cushing Road in Friendship. Maine Housed in the renovated East Friendship School House, circa 1850 , Salt Pond Studio celebrates local Mid-Coast artists.
