David J. Landry, obituary
ROCKLAND — David J. Landry, 72, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Sussman House in Rockport.
Born in Houlton, May 13, 1953, he was the sixth of 16 children, born to Marcel and Rita Giasson Landry. Educated in Bangor School, David left high school to enlist in the US Army, returning after being honorably discharged to earn his diploma.
For most of his career, David was employed as an electrician at Bath Iron Works. He retired from there in 2012. When not busy working, he enjoyed being outdoors ‘tinkering’, or going ‘picking’ for old things. When football season came around, you could find him in his recliner more than likely watching his favorite team, The New England Patriots. Music was another huge part of his life. He enjoyed more concerts than one could count and was always listening to the ever-growing music collection he shared with Paulette.
David’s family said, he was a laid back and ‘go with the flow’ kind of guy. As long as the flow was at home, where he was happiest. It wasn’t that he didn’t like to be around people, he just liked having people around him at his home where he enjoyed being.
He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Predeceased by his parents, and two siblings, Pauline Landry and Richard Landry; David is survived by his wife, Paulette R. Doucette Landry of Rockland; his daughter, Renée Landry and her partner Benjamin Tweedie of South Thomaston, Michelle Fournier and her partner Troy of Calais; his siblings, Antanette Rivera, Raymond Landry (Gloria), Michael Landry (Georgia), John Landry (Kimberly), Mary Sinclair (Michael), Ann Dorman, Daniel Landry, Thomas Landry (Mary), Sylvia Dorsey (Douglas), Patrick Landry (Deanne), James Landry (Kimberly), Timothy Landry (Patricia), Steve Landry; two grandsons, Anthony Landry and Jospeh Landry; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland.
