Kites and Ice Cream at Beech Hill Preserve, Sept. 6
Coastal Mountains Land Trust invites everyone to Kites & Ice Cream, an end of summer favorite, according to CMLT, in a news release. Fly a kite Saturday, Sept. 6, from 1 - 3 p.m., at Beech Hill Preserve, in Rockport.
This fun event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Free kites will be provided to registered children, along with a coupon for a complimentary ice cream cone (ice cream will also be available for sale for adults).
There is a 3/4 of a mile hike up the hill to reach the historic stone hut (the Beech Nut) where the kites and ice cream festivities will be taking place. Event parking lot will be open on Beech Hill Road; follow the signs.
In case of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled to Sunday, Sept. 7, at the same time.

An adult must accompany all participating children throughout the event. For everyone’s safety, dogs will not be allowed on top of the hill during the event.
Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport is a 295-acre conservation property, managed for wildlife habitat, certified organic blueberry production, historic preservation, and scenic values.
Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 13,000 acres, offering over 55 miles of trails for public recreation.
