Liberty man arrested for alleged assault of select board member at town hall meeting

LIBERTY — A Liberty man was arrested for assault following an altercation at the Liberty Town Hall, according to a media release from Maine State Police.
The alleged assault took place May 5, with troopers arriving at approximately 7:50 p.m.
Upon subsequent investigation, it was determined that probable cause existed for the arrest of 56-year-old Roland Singer, of Liberty, was charged with two counts of simple assault against one of the selectboard members. The alleged victim reportedly sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Singer was also charged with one count of criminal mischief.
