Saturday, June 13, 2026 - 09:30 amBRUNSWICK — AdaptX, in partnership with the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center (AOEC), will host a Unified 5K on June 13, 2026, at the Brunswick Parks and Recreation Department. The event is an inclusive road race and adaptive sports expo designed so that everyone can participate, whether they run, walk, or roll.
"The Unified 5K brings together athletes with and without disabilities in a shared space, challenging perceptions and demonstrating that sport is most meaningful when everyone has a place at the starting line," said a news release.
The event will also feature an adaptive sports expo (AdaptXpo), offering attendees an opportunity to explore adaptive sports and learn more about equipment and programming available in the region.
Race day will include multiple events to ensure accessibility for all participants: an early 5K start at 9:30 a.m. for participants who anticipate taking longer than an hour to finish, a Kids Fun Run at 9:35 a.m., and the main 5K Run, Roll, and Row, along with a 1-mile option, beginning at 10 a.m.
Proceeds will support AOEC’s programming, including an adaptive biking initiative that will be delivered in Falmouth and Brunswick public schools, expanding access to inclusive physical activity opportunities for students with disabilities.
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to participate and may register free of charge.
