Man accused in Rockland home invasion
ROCKLAND – A South Thomaston man was arrested by Rockland Police for a home invasion at a residence on Pleasant Street April 9.
Police said that when they arrived at the home at approximately 10:45 p.m., the suspect had already fled. The officers learned that he was known to one of the victims. The suspect attempted to fight with one of the residents, during which time the front door was allegedly kicked open and at least one person entered the residence, according to the affidavit filed in Knox County Court by Rockland Police.
Cory Brockman, 18, was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal threatening and criminal mischief after he was later found in South Thomaston by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office who assisted with the investigation.
Police are attempting to located a second suspect.
Brockman made his initial appearance in Knox County Court on April 10. Judge John Martin set his bail at $2,500 cash. He will be on house arrest and required to wear a GPA electronic monitor after he posts bail and will only be allowed to attend medical and legal appointments and his place of employment.
He was transferred from the Knox County Holding Facility in Rockland to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset where he remains as of April 12.
Brockman is scheduled to appear Knox County court again on May 25 for a dispositional conference.
