It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our brother Joey on March 17, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born in 1959 in Rockland to Joseph Walsh and Patricia Walsh. Joey attended Rockland schools graduating from high school with the Class of 1977.

In his teen years he could be found in Owls Head. He spent much of his time at P.K. Reeds wharf helping Pete out with lobsters with his brother and friends. After graduating he spent much of his adult life on fishing boats from Rockland to Florida fishing for ground fish and swordfish. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with friends and family and cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots. 

He is preceded by his mother, Patricia; father, Joseph; brothers Patrick and Shawn; nephew Joseph H. Walsh; and sister-in-law, Tonya Walsh.

He is survived by sisters Colleen Moroney (Tom) of South Carolina, Erin Walsh of Thomaston, Kerry Colson (Mike) of Warren; brother Richard of Rockland; and many nieces and nephews, and a special cousin in Newfoundland.

Joey will be remembered by those who loved and cared for him.
