Healthcare for All Maine to hold conversation on Universal Healthcare ballot initiative

Saturday, August 01, 2026 - 04:00 pmThe public is invited to join a conversation about the Universal Healthcare ballot initiative on Saturday, August 1, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the First Universalist Church, 345 Broadway in Rockland.
Hosted in partnership with Healthcare for All Maine, this event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the vision for a healthcare system that serves everyone, hear from volunteers and campaign staff, and engage in a respectful discussion about the future of healthcare in Maine.
Henk Goorhuis, Board Chair of Healthcare for All Maine and a retired family physician, will speak about the campaign and the importance of building a healthcare system that works for everyone in Maine.
Campaign staff will also be on hand to collect signatures, answer questions, and talk with attendees about opportunities to volunteer and get involved.

Virtual option: This event will also be available via Zoom. The meeting link will be included in the event announcement and shared prior to the event to those who sign up using the link above.
People of all political affiliations are encouraged to attend. Whether one is just beginning to explore the issue or have been involved for years, perspectives are welcome.
