BLUE HILL — Camden National Bank has donated $7,000 to Finding Our Voices as lead sponsor of the Down East edition of their "Into the Light!" July Yellow Festival. The gift brings the bank's total support for Finding Our Voices to $71,826 over the nonprofit's five-year history, according to FOV, in a news release.

The fundraising festival is running through July across the Blue Hill Peninsula and Bucksport plus Midcoast Maine, with a total of 126 businesses in 26 towns and three islands offering a special yellow menu item or retail product, with proceeds benefiting Finding Our Voices.

"For the second year in a row," said Patrisha McLean, CEO and founder of Finding Our Voices, "this locally committed and nationally recognized bank has stepped up in a major way for our biggest fundraiser of the year." The grassroots and statewide organization supports women survivors of domestic abuse, and festival proceeds fund critical resources to help local women get and stay safe — and keep their children and pets safe as well.

"Camden National Bank has been instrumental in helping us to brighten the lives and prospects of a huge number of Maine women and children in a relatively short amount of time," McLean said. "I'm grateful to the bank's leadership, including President and CEO Simon Griffiths, and the Chief Experience and Marketing Officer Renee Smyth who is a personal mentor of mine."
