Camden Snow Bowl launches weekly group mountain bike rides for all skill levels
The Camden Snow Bowl is inviting mountain bikers of all ages and abilities to hit the trails this summer through two weekly community ride programs designed to build skills, foster connections, and celebrate the region’s growing mountain biking community.
Beginning the week of June 24, riders can choose from two recurring group ride opportunities:
"Wednesdays in the Woods," led by Sidecountry Sports, and "Freewheeling Fridays," led by MCNEMBA (Mid-Coast Chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association). Both offer a guided riding experience departing from the Camden Snow Bowl at 6 p.m.
"The rides are open to all ability levels and are designed to provide a fun, social atmosphere for riders looking to explore local trails and connect with fellow mountain bikers," said the Snow Bowl, in a news release.
Beginner groups will focus on fun, skill-building, and easy trails in a supportive, no-pressure environment. Riders who are new to mountain biking or looking to build confidence on the trails are encouraged to join.
Intermediate and Advanced groups will tackle more challenging terrain, faster-paced riding, and advanced trail features, providing opportunities for experienced riders to push their skills and fitness.
Following each ride, participants are encouraged to gather at Snow Dogs inside the lodge for food, drinks, and post-ride camaraderie.
Participation is open to the public. Riders should arrive with a properly functioning mountain bike, helmet, water, and any personal riding gear they may need.
Want to join but don't have a mountain bike? Sidecountry Sports will be open at the Camden Snow Bowl Trailside location during group rides, and hard tail, full suspension and e-mountain bikes will be available for riders to rent. Reservations are required. Please visit www.sidecountrysports.com to see what bikes are available, make a reservation, or call or text 207-701-5100 for more information. Sidecountry will also have accessories on hand to purchase if you need something in a pinch, such as helmets, gloves, tires, tubes and basic repair parts.
