Homeworthy is partnering with award-winning Maine artist Katharine Cartwright and The Craignair Gallery for Shell-ter, a special benefit exhibition with 100% of artwork sale proceeds donated to Homeworthy to support neighbors experiencing homelessness across Midcoast Maine.

The exhibition opens with a public reception on Wednesday, July 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., at The Craignair Gallery, located inside the Craignair Inn by the Sea in Spruce Head. Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of art, live music by Beverly Pacheco, gourmet refreshments, and the opportunity to meet the artist, according to Homeworthy, in a news release.

Cartwright, a Maine-based artist and former paleontologist, has exhibited her work at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, museums throughout China, and galleries across the United States. Her newest collection, Shell-ter, draws inspiration from the remarkable forms found in seashells while reflecting on the universal human need for safety and stability.

"We're incredibly grateful to Katharine for sharing both her talent and her generosity with our community," said Molly Feeney, Executive Director of Homeworthy. "This exhibition is a beautiful reminder that creativity can bring people together while making a tangible difference for neighbors who need support."

The exhibition will remain on view at The Craignair Gallery through August 24, giving visitors several weeks to experience the collection and support Homeworthy's mission. Every painting purchased during the exhibition will directly benefit Homeworthy's work providing shelter, housing, youth services, and homelessness prevention programs throughout Midcoast Maine.

The opening reception is free and open to the public.
