Saturday, July 18, 2026 - 10:00 am to 12:00 pmSEARSMONT – Join Georges River Land Trust and Maine Master Naturalist Sherrie York on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., for a guided, hands-on print making workshop at Gibson Preserve in Searsmont.
"Take some inspiration from nature’s summer exuberance and learn a new skill at the same time," said GRLT, in a news release.
In this introduction to relief printing, participants will use simple tools to design, carve, and produce individual single-color block prints. Bring an image idea (for a 3x4-inch format) or let the flora and fauna of the Gibson Preserve be your guide.
This workshop is free and open to participants ages 16 and up. All materials are provided. Space is limited; register at georgesriver.org/events to reserve your spot.
Come prepared for time outdoors: dress for the weather, bring water, snacks, and sun protection. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes. This program will include about 0.5 miles of walking. Bring a sketchbook and a pencil.
"A lightweight, portable folding chair or stool is handy if you have one," said GRLT.
Other supplies will be provided.
Directions: Gibson Preserve is located at 621 Woodsman Mill Rd in Searsmont. A parking lot is available next to the large green hanging sign.
