Camden Hills Regional High School Girls Soccer defeats Brewer, 3 to 0

Camden Hills Regional High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team again prevailed on field, this time on Oct. 8 at a home game versus Brewer High School, defeating the No. 6 Brewer Witches 3 to 0.
The Jammers started off bringing the heat out of the gate, but the shots weren't landing as they’d hoped.
Not to fear, because Freshman #19, Elsa Schwalm came in clutch with a goal that was scored off of pure grit and aggressiveness, to take the game to a 1-0 lead, boosting the Jammers’ spirits all around.
The Jammers held 1-0 for a very large portion of the game, although having many chances and a plentiful amount of shots. Molly Williams, Sophomore #10 on a breakaway from half field, shot a bottom corner goal to further ensure the lead for the home team.
The defensive line featuring Lucy Ward, Junior #6, and Maia Andrews, Sophomore #2, held strong and didn't let any of the Witches get a glimpse of the goal, a great show of strong defensive shape.
Nearing the very end of the match, Senior #21 Sophie Helmstetter made sure the game did not end at only 2-0, taking her chance from deep and landing it right over the goalie's head, a beautiful goal that guaranteed the win for the Jammers.
The Jammers, led by coaches Meredith Messer, Josh Mahar, and Wade Ward, earned many points from this win, and will take this momentum into their next face-off versus Oxford Hills.
Visit the CHRHS Don Palmer home field Tuesday Oct. 12, at 3:30 p.m., to watch Varsity girls dominate the field, followed after by the JV squad.
Both teams are thirsty for the win, especially with only three regular season games before playoffs kick off.
