Luminary Walk at Head of Tide Preserve
BELFAST — Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust for a festive luminary walk at the Head of Tide Preserve, Thursday, Dec, 18, from 4 - 6 p.m. The lighted trail will take participants on a short loop walk (less than a mile), through a field and along a wide path in the woods.
The luminaries for this event will be decorated by students in a homeschool enrichment program, Otter Trails. This group has been using the Head of Tide preserve as one of their nature-based education sites for past three years, according to CMLT, in a news release.
This event is free and open to everyone. No registration is required. Hot chocolate will be served while supplies last. Visit coastalmountains.org/events to learn more.
Directions: From downtown Belfast, take Main Street west and immediately turn right onto Waldo Avenue. In 1.5 miles, turn right on to Doak Road. Parking area is on the right immediately after Doak’s Machine Shop. Address: 91 Doak Road, Belfast.
Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of the western Penobscot Bay. The Land Trust has protected over 13,000 acres, offering 55 miles of trails for public recreation.
