Camden Hills Girls Soccer Team on a game-winning streak of 13
The Camden Hills Windjammer girls are on a game-winning streak of 13. Thirteen games, 13 wins, and more than half ended early with the mercy rule. On Tuesday, Oct. 13, the Jammers faced off against Oxford Hills at an away game.
It was senior night for the Vikings, and the Jammers did not shy away from bringing the intensity. The game ended with a 6-0 score, in favor of your Jammers. Junior captain No. 10, Molly Williams, Junior captain No. 13, Eve Domareki, and Sophomore captain No. 5, Liv Domareki all contributed to the scoreboard with a brace for each of them.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, the Windjammers traveled to Cameron Stadium to take on the Bangor Rams. The game kicked off, and after fifteen minutes of gameplay, the Jammers found the back of the net with a terrific play of force by Freshman No. 3, Remi Caton, and a tap-in by Liv Domareki.
Only minutes later, with quick combinations down the field beginning with a throw-in from Junior No. 22, Maggie McCarthy, the ball found its way to Remi Caton’s feet, ending with a goal off of a crossing ball from Molly Williams.
To end the first half, Remi Caton and Molly Williams found the net again to secure a steady 4-0 lead at the whistle.
For the next half, the scoring came easily to the Jammers. Liv Domareki netted one for Camden, as well as Williams with three more for the scoreboard. The attack was strong for the Jammers, but the defense was what secured the shut-out. Junior captain No. 2, Maia Andrews, along with sophomore No. 16, Nathalie Nelson, command the back line from the center back position, and have done a phenomenal job this season executing tackles, and keeping the allowed goals to a minimum for Camden.
The JV Jammers flew through the Rams with a beautiful 5-0 game. The goal scorers for the game were freshmen; Colette Nowak No. 4, Kaida Nguyen No. 28, and Katalina Kriste No. 19. The sophomores that contributed to the tally were No. 9 Rowan Witbeck, and No. 25 Margaret Garrigan.
The Windjammers will play again on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Camden Hills Regional High School. This match against Messalonskee will be the Junior Varsity team’s final match of the season. Come out to support your home team this week.
