Maine Seacoast Mission holds flu vaccine clinics on six islands
Event Date
Wednesday, October 21, 2026 - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Maine Seacoast Mission, in partnership with Community Pharmacies, will offer vaccination clinics on six of Maine’s unbridged, outer islands this October. Vaccinations will be administered at designated facilities on the islands.
These vaccination clinics will take place between October 19 and 21 on Frenchboro, Great Cranberry, Isle au Haut, Islesford, Matinicus, and Monhegan. The schedule and locations are as follows:
- Frenchboro - Wednesday, October 21, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the church kitchen
- Great Cranberry - Monday, October 19, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Ladies' Aide
- Isle au Haut - Wednesday, October 21, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Town Hall
- Islesford - Monday, October 19, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Neighborhood House
- Matinicus - Tuesday, October 20, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the school
- Monhegan - Tuesday, October 20, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the first aid station
Flu and COVID vaccines will be available at no charge, according to Maine Seacoast Mission, in a news release. All island residents are eligible, with or without insurance. With advance notice, the Mission can provide RSV, shingles, pneumonia, Tdap, and more.
"The Mission has a tradition of bridging the healthcare gap in our island communities,” says Mission President John Zavodny. “Getting to the mainland for a vaccine isn’t simple when you live on an outer island. These clinics bring that care to islanders’ own doorsteps, and we’re grateful to Community Pharmacies for making it possible.”
Islanders may sign up by completing the sign-up form at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/Y3j07JSn1yor by emailing islandhealth@secoastmission.org.
Rooted in a history of compassionate service and mutual trust, the Mission strengthens coastal and island communities by fostering education, good health, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging. For more information, please visit https://seacoastmission.org/.
