CAMDEN — The Camden Opera House’s Blue Café series welcomes acclaimed singer, songwriter, and dobro player Abbie Gardner on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m., for an intimate acoustic performance in the Opera House’s third-floor listening room.

 

Gardner has earned a reputation as one of the country’s few solo dobro troubadours, according to an Opera House news release.

 

"Her performances pair heartfelt vocals and warm stage presence with fiery, blues-infused slide guitar playing on an instrument more often heard in the background than at center stage," said the news release.

 

"Gardner may be best known for her work with the acclaimed Americana trio Red Molly, but her solo career has established her as a compelling artist in her own right," said the news release. "Her 2022 solo album, DobroSinger, brought together gritty and tender tales of love and loss and reached No. 11 on the Billboard Blues chart."

 

Gardner was also a 2025 Kerrville New Folk Finalist and a 2025 Folk Alliance International Artist of the Year nominee.

 

"Her live performances showcase the full range of her artistry, moving effortlessly from intimate ballads to raw, bluesy dobro picking," said the news release. "The result is a uniquely personal show that combines storytelling, musicianship, and an unmistakable sound."

 

 

Blue Café performances are free and open to the public, with donations to the Camden Opera House’s Community Arts Fund accepted. The Blue Café is located on the third floor of the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm Street, in Camden. An elevator is available.
