Camden deserves leaders who are collaborative, practical, and dedicated to serving entire community
As Camden voters prepare to elect two Select Board members, I hope they will consider not only the candidates’ positions on individual issues, but also the character, judgment, and values they will bring to public service.
I am supporting Bobbi Oxton Blake and Christopher Nolan because I believe both possess the qualities Camden needs most in its local leadership. Having met and spoken with both of them, I have been impressed by their warmth, intelligence, sincerity and genuine concern for our community. Neither strikes me as someone seeking office to advance a personal agenda or political viewpoint. Instead both seem motivated by a simple but important goal: to do what is best for the town of Camden.
What stands out is their willingness to listen. They understand that good government begins with hearing residents, respecting different perspectives, and making thoughtful decisions based on facts and community needs. Both recognize that Camden faces important challenges, including maintaining public trust, managing costs responsibly, supporting public safety, and planning for the future. Just as importantly, they understand that not every issue can be addressed at once and that effective leadership requires setting priorities and focusing on the town’s most pressing needs.
Bobbi’s lifelong connection to Camden and record of community service reflect a deep appreciation for the town’s traditions and people. Christopher’s experience on the Select Board, combined with his professional and military background, has demonstrated steady, accountable leadership and a commitment to thoughtful decision making.
Camden deserves leaders who are collaborative, practical, and dedicated to serving the entire community. I believe Bobbi Oxton Blake and Christopher Nolan embody those qualities, and I encourage my fellow residents to support them for Select Board.
