Amazing choices for Rockport voters
Fri, 05/29/2026 - 1:26pm
The June 9 election in Rockport offers our residents seven candidates who appeared Tuesday evening at the Rockport Opera House at a meeting for all candidates for the Select Board organized by the Editor of the Penbay Pilot, Lynda Clancy.
You can view the video of the forum on YouTube at Town of Rockport, Maine, 2026-05-26 Rockport Select Board Candidates Night.
Today I would like to describe the comments made by Candidate Linda Greenlaw. Linda is running for a one-year appointment to the Select Board and her curriculum vitae is compelling and astoundingly impressive.
Linda is a third generation Rockporter, and her daughter and granddaughter are residents, as well. She became Deputy Clerk for the Town of Rockport in 1996, and then Clerk for the Town in 1998.
During her tenure, she actually took on the responsibilities of Acting Town Manager for a time! Linda retired in 2023 - 25 years later!
Linda states that the greatest issues facing our beautiful little Town are taxes, housing, sewer facilities, and the school budget.
In closing, I urge all Rockport voters to express their choices for the Select Board on June 9, or by absentee ballot before that date. Thank you.
