Penobscot Bay Ringers free performances in Camden, South Thomaston

Saturday, May 30, 2026 - 03:00 pmPenobscot Bay Ringers, Midcoast Maine's community handbell choir, will present a spring concert weekend on Saturday, May 30, at 3 p.m., in South Thomaston, and on Sunday, May 31, at 4 p.m., in Camden.
Both concerts are free and open to the public, featuring a variety of popular songs and an emphasis on patriotic/Americana tunes in celebration of our country’s 250th birthday. In addition to music presented by the full, five-octave choir, there will be several ensemble performances by members of Penobscot Bay Ringers. The group will be joined by flutist Steve Weston on two pieces.
According to the Ringers, in a news release, the concerts are identical in repertoire and each one hour in length. Free-will donations will be collected for the designated charitable organizations named below.
On Saturday, May 30, at 3 p.m., the group will perform at the People’s United Methodist Church, 13 Chapel Street, South Thomaston. Donations will be accepted in support of The American Legion Department of Maine, District 6 (Knox County posts).
On Sunday, May 31, at 4 p.m., the group will perform at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street, Camden. Free will offering will benefit the Shields Fund. For twenty-four years and counting, the Shields Fund has been working with local social service agencies to provide assistance to Knox County and Lincolnville residents in financial crises.

Founded in 2008, Penobscot Bay Ringers is a community handbell organization dedicated to promoting excellence in handbell artistry through performance, education, and community engagement. The group is proud to support local organizations through the gift of music.
