Bryan E. Rolerson, obituary
Bryan E. Rolerson, 67, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Sussman House in Rockport.
Born in Belfast on October 16, 1958, Bryan was the son of Gerald Kennedy and Ann Belcher. He grew up in the Union and Washington areas, attending local schools before eagerly jumping into the workforce. A man who was never afraid of hard work, Bryan held many diverse roles throughout his life—from working security in California to serving as a dedicated construction laborer along the Midcoast.
Life has a beautiful way of coming full circle, and Bryan’s love story was testament to that. He first met Denise in the 7th grade, where they were childhood sweethearts. Though life initially took them down separate paths, fate brought them back together in January 2005. They were married on November 26, 2005, and in 2006, they bought their home in Liberty. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with happiness and a backyard blanketed in vibrant sunflowers—a bright reflection of the love they shared.
Bryan was a true Maine sportsman who found his peace in the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, or snowmobiling, he was happiest in nature. He loved the simple peace of camping and sitting by a roaring fire. Bryan also had a soft heart for wildlife; he loved feeding the local birds and took pride in maintaining a backyard filled with every kind of bird feeder imaginable. He cherished times spent taking his wife out to the races, and his family takes comfort in knowing he lived life to the fullest right up to the end, thoroughly enjoying a Jelly Roll concert shortly before his passing.
Bryan was predeceased by his parents and his brother Dana Rolerson.
His legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Denise Rolerson; his daughter, Karen Rolerson; and his son, Bryan Rolerson, Jr. and his partner Alicia Shepard. He was the proud grandfather of Heaven Wadford, Emma Wadford, Cheyenne Wadford, and Paisley Jane Rolerson, as well as step-grandchildren Casey and Nina Shepard.
He is also survived by his six siblings, Jean Higgins (Joe), Paul Belcher (Shawna), Gerald Rolerson (Polly), Duane Rolerson (Catherine), Lydia Abbotoni (Michael), and Deidre Rolerson; his sisters-in-law Dawn Hathorn and Dale Harvey (Jay); his brother-in-law Dean Overlock (Joy); and sister-in-law Mary (widow of Dana), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support youth outdoor programs, a cause close to Bryan's heart, Knox County Fish & Game, P.O. Box 414, Union, ME 04862. Please note in the memo line: Bryan Rolerson Sr. gun range (Donations will benefit kids' camps, youth shoots, and the Cub Scouts).
