The DaPonte String Quartet and pianist Christopher O’Riley will perform piano quintets by Schumann and Korngold, in Camden and Waldoboro during June 2025.

The Camden performance will be Wednesday, June 4, at 7 p.m., at Hammer Hall, 5 Mountain Street.

The Waldoboro performance will be Friday, June 6, at 7 p.m., at St. Paul’s Union Chapel, 1965 Dutch Neck Road.

Falu Shah brings unique South Indian style to Bay Chamber

Falu Shah makes her Bay Chamber debut on Friday, May 23, at 7 p.m. Shah is a GRAMMY Award winner who has collaborated with musicians as diverse as Yo-Yo Ma, John Batiste, and Wyclef Jean, and occupies a unique station in the ever-rich domain of world music.

"Seamlessly blending modern Indian music stylings with her classically trained voice, Falu has carved out her own musical genre known as 'Indie Hindi,'" said Bay Chamber, in a news release.

ROCKPORT — The Midcoast Community Chorus (MCC) will return to the stage with Sing OUT! - a vibrant and uplifting concert celebrating community, harmony, inclusion, and LGBTQIA+ pride. The performance will take place Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 7 p.m., at the Strom Auditorium at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport.

Jazz in June 2025 sets June 13-15 schedule

CAMDEN — The three-day schedule for this year’s Jazz in June festival is set, filling downtown Camden with live jazz over Father’s Day weekend.

Friday, June 13

The fest’s traditional opening performance is a free outdoor lunchtime concert by the Midcoast Music Academy Faculty Jazz Ensemble, with special guests. Jazz on the Village Green will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

The first cocktail-hour Jazz Reception of the fest will feature innovative cellist Robin Lane at Lucky Betty’s, 46 Elm St., from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

ROCKLAND — A live broadcast from New York City’s Metropolitan Opera of Rossini’s effervescent comedy Il Barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville) will be presented at the Strand Theatre on Saturday, May 31, at 1 p.m. An encore will be screened Tuesday, June 10, at 1 p.m.

Down East Singers, Mozart Mentors Orchestra and four professional soloists will present Antonìn Dvořák's Requiem, Op. 89, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, at 4 p.m., at Watts Hall, 174 Main Street, Thomaston, Maine. The performance will be conducted by Anthony Antolini of Cushing.

The Rockport Public Library will host an Edible Minecraft Festival on Saturday, May 31, at 10:30 a.m. Families are invited to compete in a Minecraft-themed bake-off. Participants should create their edible desserts at home, and bring them to the library for judging on the day of the event. Entries can be a shape, a prop, a character, or a build from the game.

Join the artists Saturday, May 24, from 4 - 7 p.m., at the Opening Celebration of “Just a Few Friends,” the season opener at Salt Pond Studio, Friendship.

This is an invitational group exhibition curated by gallery owner and artist Pam Cabañas. The diverse group of Maine artists includes pastel artist Lyn Asselta, weaver Sara Hotchkiss, Metal Smith Noah Bly, creator Merle Rockwell, as well as painters Carolyn Gabbe, Jane Herbert, Eric Jacobsen, Libby Reed, Carol Sloane and Karin Strong.

ROCKLAND—Sebastian and Coral Crissey, both 25, just launched the state's first virtual Maine Lobster Museum this week.

The venture took the couple eight months of planning, designing, researching, and building to bring the virtual museum to life. For $10 for a day pass, visitors can browse a virtual experience dedicated to the rich culture, history, and sustainability of Maine's iconic lobster industry.

Kray Van Kirk brings Folk, Americana story songs to Camden Public Library

Kray Van Kirk will perform Folk, Americana story songs, Tuesday, May 27, at 6 p.m., at Camden Public Library.

A fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska, but he set science aside to write songs, tell stories and summon heroes.

New Orleans native and Grammy-nominated Andrew Duhon has been busy racking up rave reviews over the past decade. On Friday, May 23 he makes a rare appearance in Maine, performing just one show, at the historic Opera House in Boothbay Harbor. Traveling with his trio, audiences can anticipate an upbeat musicality to his tunes with upright bassist, Myles Weeks and drummer, Jim Kolacek singing three part harmony.

Arts In The Barn/ Cushing Historical Society is starting summer off with a community exhibit called “The Boat Show” June 27 through 29, 2025.

This show is non-juried and will feature various fine art and crafts media all based on the theme of boats, which includes models, jewelry, photography, painting and more.
