New art exibit at MaineHealth Waldo Hospital
BELFAST — A new art exhibit is now on display at MaineHealth Waldo Hospital, featuring works by Camilla Jewett, Michael Hagenbuch and Pat Nelson. Their works are on display along the first-floor hallway near the Lab and the hospital’s Cardiac Rehab department.
The display is part of an ongoing effort at MHWH to display local artists. The MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals Art Committee, made of care team members from MHWH and MHPBH, put out a call for artists in January, looking for artists with ties to Maine and New England to display their work in a series of 12-week exhibits at the hospitals. The group reviewed a pool of submissions and selected 23 artists that reflect the committee’s mission of welcoming visitors with art that feels comforting and engaging while celebrating the diversity, history and beauty of the Midcoast region.
Each exhibit includes QR codes, which can be scanned by a smartphone or tablet, to provide additional information about the featured artists.
The current exhibit is on display until July 21, 2025, with the next scheduled to be displayed from August 4 to October 27, 2025.
