Stockton Springs artist opens summer season with solo exhibit in Bangor
BANGOR — An exhibition of twenty never exhibited paintings by Stockton Springs Artist Peter Walls will open on Friday, May 16, at The Zillman Art Museum for its summer offerings and runs through August 23. One room will showcase 16 small scale shaped panel painting while the adjoining room will showcase three works ranging in size from 4’x8’ to 4’x17’.
“The artist’s skill as a painter and muralist is clearly evident in the exhibition, by the scale in which he works and the utility of creating multiple panels that join together in a seamless composition," said curator and museum director George Kinghorn in his exhibition text. "Walls accentuates the spirit of these imagined locations through the heightened color used to depict these natural details and the silhouettes created by the forms.“
The Zillman Art Museum is located at 40 Harlow Street in Bangor, Maine. Museum hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5 pm. Admission is free thanks to the support of Birchbrook. For more information call 207.581.3300. You can also visit our website at zam.umaine.edu or on instagram @zillmanartmuseum
