"Wish You Were Here: Using Postcards to Enhance Your Family’s History" genealogy talk
Join the Belfast Free Library and the Wawenoc Chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, for a presentation by Carol Kimball Stahl called “Wish You Were Here: Using Postcards to Enhance Your Family’s History.”
Marion Leila (Coombs) Kimball was a long-serving librarian on Islesboro who began collecting postcards in the early 1900’s. Her paternal granddaughter, Carol Kimball Stahl, later inherited a collection of around 400 postcards. Join us to learn how she has used them to enhance her understanding of her grandmother’s daily life and the lives of her family and friends.
While there is a Zoom option, this presentation is best appreciated in-person, as Carol will have the postcards available for attendees to view.
This event is free and open to the public. It is an in-person event, with a Zoom option available. Please email spietryka@belfastlibrary.org to request the link. The Wawenoc Chapter is the Belfast area’s chapter of the Maine Genealogical Society. It meets monthly on the third Wednesday at the Belfast Free Library. Genealogists of all abilities and skill-levels are encouraged to join.
