The Craignair Gallery invites the public to the Opening Reception of an exhibition of fine art entitled “Along the Coast of Maine” by local artist Doug Houle on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Born in Manchester, Connecticut, Houle graduated with a BFA degree in painting from Plymouth State College. His dynamic paintings in oil capture the light along familiar scenes of coastline Maine. To Houle, “light marks the beginning and end of a day. Light is a symbol of hope.”
"The beauty and calmness of his paintings impart a feeling of comfort and hope to viewers," said Craignair Gallery.
“Along the Coast of Maine” will be on exhibition from September 10 through October 14, 2025.
