Thomaston Grammar students recognized for responsibility in 2025-26
Several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for responsibility at a school-wide assembly on November 12. Students receiving the Responsibility Award were Miles Curtis, Gabe Ross, Noa Silverstein, Adam Breen, Vivien Hedstrom, Aoife Miller, Cassius Magnoli, Alex Stinson, Giuliana Rubino, Andrew Smith, Essie Ross, Opal Wellman, Trenton Adams, Adeline Dorey, Autumn Morin, Alyvia Baughman, Joy Chen, Ryman Ames-Allan, Adelaide Walsh, Skylar Haynes, Ryleigh Gagnon, and Hailey Ames. The assembly was emceed by 5th grade students Aubree Joynt and Elizabeth Guzman.
Responsibility can be reflected in many areas of our lives. The most important aspect of being responsible is being accountable to oneself. Students who are responsible take ownership of their actions. They make sure to do what is required of them and also to do what is right, without being told or reminded to do so. They take responsibility for their choices and decisions.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for being responsible. These tickets were put into a raffle and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a prize, including gift cards donated by local businesses or lunch or game with Mrs. Riley. This month’s winners were James McRae, Colton Webber, Ezra Reed, Imrane Hamza Issifi, Autumn Morin, and Opal Wellman.
Evelyn Fish also received the Principal’s Award. Evelyn is a wonderful member of the Thomaston Grammar School community. It is apparent to all who she crosses paths with that she cares about her classmates and TGS staff members. She works hard to be a contributing member of her classroom and the greater school community. She is respectful in her interactions with all members of the community at all times.
The cast from Oceanside High School’s fall musical, “Newsies,” made an appearance at the assembly as well, treating students to a sampling of songs and script from the show. The show is Nov. 14, 15, 21 and 22, at 7 p.m., and Nov. 23, at 2 p.m., at Oceanside High School.
This month, students at TGS will be focusing on gratitude.
Congratulations to all the students who received awards at TGS this month!
