David Dodson brings American Songbook to Watts Hall, May 8

Friday, May 08, 2026 - 07:00 pmTHOMASTON — Watts Hall Community Arts will present David Dodson in concert on Friday, May 8, at 7 p.m., at Watts Hall, 174 Main Street, Thomaston.
"A gifted songwriter with a wide-ranging American songbook, David Dodson moves seamlessly across folk, rock, blues, jazz, and country," said a Watts Hall news release. "His performances blend poignant ballads with laugh-out-loud storytelling, delivered with skilled guitar work, warm vocals, and a natural sense of rhythm that draws audiences in."
A New Folk winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival, Dodson has shared the stage with artists including k d lang, Bill Staines, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Gordon Bok, and the band Chicago.
"He is widely recognized for his versatility, imagination, and genuine connection with audiences," said the news release. "Reviewers have praised his ability to shift between voices and styles, as well as the humor and kindness that come through in his songs. Whether performing a tender love song or a sharply observed slice of life, Dodson brings an engaging and memorable experience from the first note to the last."
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 day of show, if available. Discounted tickets for youth ages 12 and under are available for $10 in advance and $15 day of show, if available. Tickets can be purchased online at wattshallthomaston.com.
