Roller skating lives at Midcoast Rec! While the ice is out in the skating arena, roller skating takes over, with public skates, learn to roller skate classes, roller hockey, and other special events.
Public Skate Details:
Morning time skates:
- Monday - Friday, 7:30am-9:00am
- Monday - Friday, 10:30am-12:00pm (available only until June 19th)
- Saturday & Sunday, 10:30am-12:00pm
Late Skates:
- Friday & Saturday, 6:00-8:00pm
- Themed Late Skates (such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Disco, and more) will be held throughout the season. Check out our events page for more details
Roller skates and roller blades are available to rent in a wide range of youth and adult sizes. Safety gear, such as helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads, are strongly encouraged but not required, and are not available for rent at Midcoast Rec. Learn more on our Public Skate page!
Learn to Roller Skate Details:
Sundays, 12:00pm (youth) & 12:40pm (adult)
Whether you’re looking to master the basics or just find a fun way to stay active, our Learn to Roller Skate classes are a perfect fit, and they're officially open for enrollment! Starting April 26th, we’re offering sessions for both youth and adults. You can commit to the full 6-week program to really build your confidence, or keep it flexible and drop in whenever your schedule allows. Drop-ins, please register at least 24-hours in advance. Roller Hockey Details:
Take the beloved game of hockey off the ice and onto wheels! Our Adult and Youth Roller Hockey programs kick off April 22nd (for adults) and April 29th (for youth), offering the perfect way to keep your stick-handling and game sense sharp while having a blast. Whether you want to commit to the full session or keep it flexible with our weekly drop-in option, there’s a spot on the floor for you. Learn more and register HERE!
