Rockland emergency crews respond to rollover on quiet neighborhood street
ROCKLAND — Motor vehicle rollovers sometimes happen. Usually, though, they occur on major roads, where traffic moves at higher speeds. So, when a single vehicle rollover occurred in a small neighborhood in Rockland, middday Friday, the incident drew a different type of intrigue.
Fire, EMS, and police were called to Jefferson Street, near Cedar Street, Friday, June 26, 2026, at 12:20 p.m., after a car traveling north from a two-way stop, off of a slightly larger neighborhood street, hit a tree before tipping over onto its roof. Among the several neighbors who were home at the time was one with EMS training. She recognized instantly the sound of a vehicle hitting a tree. She ran for her exam gloves, then ran to the car to provide support and reassurance.
The two occupants of the vehicle were able to self-extricate before being transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police are working to piece together the circumstances that led to the crash.
AutoMaster Towing hauled the vehicle away.
