Kimberly Sue (Redding) Sawyer, obituary
ROCKLAND — Kimberly Sue (Redding) Sawyer, 58, passed away, Monday, June 22, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kim was born in Eastport, Maine on February 13, 1968.
Kim was the beloved youngest of six daughters born to William A. Redding (D. 2022) and Leona H. Carter, both of Pembroke, Maine. She graduated from South Hope Christian School in 1986.
Although Kim’s faith was the center of her life, she had many interests including gardening, baking, and crafting. She loved spending time with her sisters and her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Kim loved the many dogs she had over the years and currently had two who lived with her: Eve, a golden retriever, and Boone, a German shepherd. She also wrote and illustrated a book called William, about a much-loved Pomeranian, which is featured on the Barnes and Noble website.
Kim will be missed every day by her mom, Helen; her sisters, Vicki, Dorene, Willie, Leona, and Robin; her five brothers-in-law: Mark, Russ, Wells, Chris, and Glen; her many nieces and nephews; and her longtime companion and best friend, Merton Sawyer.
A celebration of Kim’s life will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 1 p.m., at Littlefield Memorial Baptist Church, One Waldo Avenue, Rockland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to metastatic breast cancer research in her name.
