Event Date
Saturday, June 27, 2026 - 09:00 amPatrisha McLean will lead Rose Day at Merryspring Nature Center on Saturday, June 27, at 9 a.m.
"McLean is a rosarian who learned from the best: Glenn Jenks and Faith Getchell," said Merryspring, in a news release.
She created bountiful rose gardens featuring hundreds of hardy heirloom and David Austin varieties in her former dwelling of a hilltop estate in Camden, and now enjoys a smaller-scale version in her cozy home on the harbor.
McLean will talk about the intoxicating beauty and variety of old roses and English roses and how to best plant and care for them in Maine, plus provide samples from her garden.
This program is part of the Weekend Workshop series at Merryspring, sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
This is a free program, pre-registration is required by email info@merryspring.org or by calling 207-236-2239.
Merryspring is your community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round. The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza.
