Thanks to those who contributed to Rotary effort to buy generators for people of Kyiv, Ukraine
I wish to thank the many people in and around Camden for their support of a Rotary International project to buy portable generators for the people of Kyiv, Ukraine, who have endured a bitterly cold winter with very limited access to power due to targeted Russian attacks on their energy infrastructure. On many days, they received power from the grid for only two to four hours.
The Camden Rotary Club, the West Bay Rotary Club, and individuals from our region have contributed more than $30,000 to the Kyiv Portable Generator Project.
Thanks to their generous donations, the Kyiv-Balzac Rotary Club has purchased and distributed approximately 60 generators throughout the city. This program is helping hundreds of people — in both households and day-care centers — generate power when the grid is down.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this effort. We appreciate their compassion and generosity in helping the people of Kyiv.
Bruce Cole lives in Rockport and is President of the Camden Rotary Club
