Sunday Strolls 2025 Season at Rockland's Main Street
The 2025 Sunday Strolls season on Main Street in Rockland begins Sunday, May 18, and will continue the third Sunday of each month May-October.
Sunday Stroll is an event created by the community, focused on re-envisioning Rockland's Main Street as a community gathering space. Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic and open to pedestrians, vendors, artists and performers. Participants are encouraged to explore all that downtown Rockland has to offer, from small businesses, restaurants, and community organizations to talented local artists and musicians.
The second year of the Sunday Strolls builds on a foundation of programming that includes the Rockland Makers Market, nonprofit community booths with interactive family activities, “lawn” games, demonstrations and talks by local experts, “Murals on Main” chalk drawing on the street, live music, even “City Chat” where community members are able to informally chat with local council members spearheaded by Rockland’s Mayor, Penelope York.
”Rockland Sunday Strolls have proven themselves to be such a fun and innovative way for Council members to get to interact with the public,” said Mayor York. “The conversations were so insightful, and coupled with the food, and beautiful setting, it was always something to look forward to. I am really excited to see what this year brings...new Makers, vibrant music, interactive exhibits...the sky is the limit! Rockland Sunday Strolls are a destination...I hope to see lots of new faces this year!"
This year’s themes and dates include 5/18 PLANTS, 6/15 SUMMER, 7/20 NAUTICAL, 8/17 ART, 9/21 WELLNESS, and 10/19 FALL.
For the Sunday Strolls, Main Street will be temporarily closed to motorized traffic between Park Street and Glovers Passage (Ada’s Kitchen) from 10am-5pm with the event from 11am-4pm.
Sunday Stroll is a 100% community driven event that is free and open to the public. For more information or to get involved as a volunteer or participant, contact matt@rocklandrolls.org or visit rocklandrolls.org.
