Student achievements celebrated during Mid-Coast School of Technology Recognition Night

Mid-Coast School of Technology held its annual Recognition Night on May 30, at the Owls Head Transportation Museum, celebrating the achievements of 100 students who have completed one or more programs through the school. The event, which began at 6 p.m., was attended by nearly 450 people, including students, families, faculty, and community members.
Director Bobby Deetjen opened the evening by welcoming the enthusiastic crowd and acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the students. He highlighted the rigorous training programs at Mid-Coast, where students finishing a two-year program complete 750 hours of training, preparing them for various career paths.
Of the seniors graduating this year, 32% plan to enter the workforce directly, while 58% intend to further their education through college or additional certifications. Additionally, 7% are enlisting in the military. In recognition of their commitment to continuing education, over $45,000 in scholarships were awarded to students from various scholarship committees.
The keynote address was delivered by Peter Horch, of Horch Roofing, who shared inspiring words and professional insights, encouraging the graduates to pursue their passions and strive for excellence in their future endeavors.
Mid-Coast School of Technology is dedicated to providing students with the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers. The Recognition Night serves as a testament to the school's goals of fostering educational and professional growth in its students.
